FAVORITE SNACKS

Do you have a favorite snack? Roxie and I have been binge watching Virgin River on Netflix (don’t judge) and often snack during the binge watches. It got me thinking about my favorite snacks. I have many.

My all time favorite is popcorn. You can’t go wrong with popcorn, in fact I don’t think I know anyone that doesn’t like it. I fell in love with popcorn at an early age. Growing up we had popcorn all the time. I remember my dad popping it in an old kettle on the stove all the time. I pop it the same way today. Sunday nights is the night for popcorn at our house. It is usually my supper. I pop a big bowl of it and snack on it most of the week. Sometimes I pour a little milk in my bowl and eat it like cereal with a spoon. That is a Raymo tradition. I know it’s weird, but it is really good.

A Snickers bar is my other go to snack. It’s the perfect combination of nuts, chocolate, and caramel. It’s high in calories, but who cares! When a Snickers bar is around it’s getting eaten by me. I have a friend who knows I love Snickers bars, so at high school sporting events he always heads to the concession stand and gets me a Snickers and brings it up the press box for me. At Halloween time, I always looked for Snickers in my kids’ bags and took it without asking. I never get sick of Snickers. Did you know Snickers Bars had sales of over 2 billion dollars in 2004!

Milk Duds is next on my list. I like to have a box of Milk Duds in the car when driving. Milk Duds are a caramel ball wrapped in chocolate. Roxie doesn’t like them because she says they stick to her teeth. I like to suck on them rather than chew them for some reason. If I don’t get popcorn at the movie theater, then I go for the Milk Duds.

I better mention a few healthier snacks that I like. I could snack on baby carrots all day. Dip them in Ranch and they’re even better. Another healthy snack is celery with peanut butter and raisins, they are called Ants on a Log. My mom always made them when I lived at home and I still make them once in a while for a snack.

I was doing some research on snacks, I found this. “It looks like America loves their sweet snacks because popular snacks include Milky Way bars, Chips Ahoy, Snickers, Twix, Kit Kats, Starburst, Almond Joy, and Sour Patch Kids. As for salty snacks, Kettle Chips, Pringles, Funyuns, Lays Chips, Ruffles, Ritz Crackers, Cheetos, and Cheez-its all made the list.” I like my snacks and I know I snack too much. It’s the American way.
