BLOG ABOUT NOTHING

For the first time since I started blogging I don’t know what to write about! I have always had something to blog about when I sat down at my computer on Sunday. So this blog is going to be like the television show Seinfeld, which was a show about nothing! I’m going to just ramble about nothing of great importance.

I sat up in bed this morning and looked out the window and noticed that it had snowed. My back sidewalk had a good dusting of snow on it. It’s October 25th and we have way below temperatures and snow on the ground. Last Tuesday we had 3 to 4 inches fall in Madison. I like winter, but it’s not winter yet it’s still fall and it’s before Halloween. So this is unusual weather for this time of year. Two weeks ago it was 80 degrees and I had mowed the lawn.

I did three sports broadcasts this week. I was in Minneota Thursday with the Dawson/Boyd Blackjack volleyball team. Being a sports broadcaster has its perks. The Blackjack volleyball team presented me with a D/B mask to wear! It’s black with the D/B logo on it! I love it, it fits great and black is my favorite color. A Minneota volleyball player asked me if I wanted a doughnut. I never turn down a doughnut. I told her thank you and she told me the doughnuts came from the boys’ football team. The football player who has the most penalties during a game buys doughnuts for the team and they had some left over. So I got one and it was very good, it had white frosting on it. After the volleyball match I was invited to go to the City Hall Bar and Grill and my friends from Minneota insisted on paying for my dinner. I have great friends!

I had a blast in Canby Saturday. The Lancer football team played a Saturday afternoon game with Martin County West. It was cold and light snow was falling. Both teams had to reschedule their games because of COVID. Canby won a pretty exciting game 13 to 6. The Canby people are always so nice to me and I really enjoy visiting with them. I usually don’t do this during a broadcast, but at halftime I had to go to the bathroom. I made my way down from the press box and started making the long walk to the men’s restroom. Along the way everyone stopped me and wanted to visit!! When you have to go, you have to go! Plus, I only had a few minutes, because I had to get back on the air. I tried to smile and be polite with everyone that wanted to visit. I couldn’t stop and I just kept walking, making it to the bathroom without an accident. After the football game I stopped by PK Egan’s and brought home a pizza for my wife.

There you have it, a blog about nothing!
