TATTOO, EASTER EGGS AND JESUS

I have one tattoo, and it has to do with Jesus! A number of years ago I was moved to get a large tattoo. Don’t judge, Jesus even has a tattoo. In Revelations 19:16 John tells us that in a vision he saw Jesus riding a white horse and on his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I had my favorite Bible verse along with a dove representing the Holy Spirit put on my left arm. There is a whole story to this so sometime ask me about it.

A verse that helped me see the way one day was John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” You want to spend eternity in Heaven? Jesus is the only way, no one comes to God except through him. Accept that Jesus is the Son of God, repent of your sins and say “yes” to Jesus! That is the Easter message, Jesus is alive and waiting for you. This is what I believe with all my heart. I would love to visit with you more and tell you about my faith story. Just ask me anytime.

My tattoo

Now about Easter eggs and Jesus. My favorite Comedian is Jim Gaffigan. I posted on my Facebook page his Easter and Easter egg comedy bit, it is so funny. Little does Jim know that Easter eggs and bunnies do have something to do with Jesus and the resurrection. Yes it does! Early Christian tradition has a lot to do with celebrating the resurrection of Jesus with colored eggs. Check this link out its a good read. https://www.exploregod.com/the-easter-bunny-and-jesus

Easter traditions are so different between families. When Roxie and I got married we found out quickly we’d grown up with different Easter traditions. Roxie’s mom liked to hide just the Easter basket and my mom hid the Easter eggs! So we had a problem when we had a family. We compromised and did both! But every Easter we argued which was the right way. We do laugh at that now.

Looking for Easter eggs

I love getting together, watching our grandchildren dye eggs and running around looking for baskets and Easter eggs. They have so much fun. The Easter traditions continue in the Raymo home. Roxie always makes scalloped potatoes and ham for Easter dinner. After dinner, the grand-kids run around the house looking for the plastic eggs with candy in them that grandma hid. The smiles on the grand-kids, make grandpa smile as well.

Easter eggs have been found!

I know some people have doubt about the resurrection of Jesus or don’t give it a second thought or think its fiction. I ran across a quote from Chuck Colson a while back and I keep his quote in my Bible. For those of you that don’t know who Chuck Colson is, he served as Special Councel to President Nixon and was involved in the Watergate scandal. This is a powerful message and quote that I would like to end with on this Easter.

Empty tomb

Chuck Colson: ” I know the resurrection is a fact, and Watergate proved it to me. How? Because 12 men testified they had seen Jesus raised from the dead, then they proclaimed that truth for 40 years, never once denying it. Every one of them was beaten, tortured, stoned and put in prison. they would not have endured that if it weren’t true. Watergate embroiled 12 of the most powerful men in the world and they couldn’t keep a lie for three weeks. You’re telling me 12 apostles could keep a lie for 40 years? Absolutely impossible!” Happy Easter!
