I host a  number of radio programs during the week.

The shows cover a wide range of topics, a computer show, a library show along with a medical program and a garden show and a few others. I enjoy doing each show and  have learned so much about the topics we cover. I like learning new things from the people that are the experts in their field. Each show is so much fun to do. But, I have to say, none of them quite compare to Fashionista Fridays with Monica Bothun!

Monica owns a boutique in Dawson and runs the business out of her home. She has become a good friend since I took over hosting Fashionista Fridays from Terry Overlander a number of years ago. Monica and Terry started Fashionista Fridays about 17 years ago. The show is all about fashion. When I came on board I knew nothing about fashion. Monica has made me into a Fashionista!

Let me tell you about Monica. She is passionate about fashion. She is passionate about what she is doing. Monica loves her job! She loves to help people feel good about themselves by finding a great outfit. Her excitement rubs off on you after you have been with her awhile and all of a sudden you have a passion for fashion too. She has a heart of gold.

On Fridays she usually drives over to Madison and brings a number of dresses, jeans, shirts, boots or shoes with her and we set up in the studio. She sets up a tripod to broadcast live on Facebook with her phone. We go on the air at 9:15. The show is high energy. She let’s me open freight live on the air, and we have a lot of fun. She also brings donuts  for me and Maynard.

This past Friday Monica celebrated 17 years in business. We did Fashionista Fridays from her place of business on Chestnut street in Dawson. Her business is part of her home. Whenever I broadcast from her place she always makes breakfast for me. Her husband, Kevin, joins us and we enjoy eggs, sausage, toast and coffee. She loves making breakfast. It’s always fun doing the show from her place.

I’ve never met anyone like Monica. She loves her family, friends and her loyal customers. She certainly has a passion for life and a passion for fashion.
