BASKETBALL BASKETBALL BASKETBALL

This is the time of year that I watch the most TV! It’s all basketball, all the time!

With my job I attend a lot of high school games. The Montevideo gym and the RA Facility at SMSU in Marshall are my two favorite places to watch and broadcast basketball games. The boys and girls section playoffs every year are fun. At SMSU we have the best seats in the house, sitting right next to the teams on the floor. The crowds are huge and loud, student sections show up in big numbers. While waiting for the games to start that we are broadcasting, Mitchell Syltie, my broadcast partner and I are watching college basketball games on our phones and checking other scores. It’s basketball all the time.

I watched most of the Big Ten tournaments both the women and men’s games.   Saturday I watched all four state girls basketball championship games. Between games I watched the Big Ten men’s tournament. I never got out of my chair all day! I just enjoy watching great basketball this time of year and the best is about to start with the NCAA tournament. This year I will be watching the women’s tournament just as much as the men’s. Can’t wait to see how far Caitlyn Clark can take the Hawkeyes.

Did you know that SMSU hosted the NCAA National Wheel Chair basketball tournament? I watched some of that as well. Major college teams like Alabama, Auburn and Arizona were in Marshall this weekend. Small college basketball is fun to watch as well. Minnesota West Community College in Worthington won the national championship Saturday. I’m looking forward to watching the state boys basketball tournament this week with the RTR boys playing number one ranked Cherry Thursday.

So, more basketball to watch on TV in the next few weeks. You know where I will be, sitting in my favorite chair giving my remote a workout.
