A couple of weeks ago I did a picture blog about all of the selfies I take! I received a big response from that blog. A friend of mine asked me about a certain picture in that blog and he wanted to hear the story behind it. So I decided to pick a few pictures this week and share the story behind that picture! Let’s get started!
I walked into the Dawson-Boyd gymnasium to broadcast a Blackjack boys basketball game and was met at the door by Missy Roszak with my own personal popcorn bucket! I had mentioned on a previous sports broadcast a few nights before that Dawson-Boyd concessions has by far the best popcorn!!! I was shocked! On the other side of the bucket it says Paul’s Popcorn Bucket! I asked for free popcorn for life, but that was pushing it!

Twin sisters Michelle and LeAnn Jerzak of the Minneota Vikings basketball team wanted a picture with me after winning the section basketball championship in Marshall! Can’t remember why we were laughing so hard, but it is one of my favorite pictures! They both are married now.

I was broadcasting a Canby Lancers basketball game when at halftime this cute little guy Ryson Schmidt came up to the press box area just to say hi and give me a bag of popcorn!

It was my birthday and the TMB volleyball team came up to the press box before their match with LQPV and sang happy birthday to me as loud as they could! Great memory!

I was covering the section cross country meet in Adrian. There was snow on the ground, windy and cold, but the broadcast continued!!

Covering the state cross country meet at St. Olaf in Northfield, Canby Lancers boys team gave me a Lancer XC state t-shirt to wear and I got a picture with them

Broadcasting a Minneota state football game with my friend Steve Hennen. Minneota beat Minneapolis North for the championship! Really nice press box!

I surprised the LQPV volleyball team at practice. They were happy to see me! My friend and broadcasting partner Molly Hennen is the head coach for the Eagles.

The LQPV/DB Shadows dance team waiting for the final results in the tunnel at Target Center in Minneapolis. They would be named state champions in High Kick!

Those are just a few pictures that have a story behind it! I will do this again sometime! It was fun to tell the stories.
