My daily activities consist of normal activities and not normal activities. I came to realize this week that some of my not normal activities are becoming normal activities. Are you following me? I am going to make a list of normal and not normal activities I did this past week.
Normal activity
Went through the Dairy Queen drive through and got a Snickers Blizzard.
Not normal activity.
Went to a funeral in the cemetery, not at the church.
Normal activity
Sat outside on my patio and grilled a steak enjoying the sunshine and quietness
Not normal activity
Went to a high school graduation in a park while social distancing and I wore a mask. The graduates and their families remained in their cars.
Normal activity
Went for a walk around our small town of Madison with my wife.
Not normal activity
Constantly texting and calling family members that live in the cities, because I’m worried about them because of the riots.
Normal activity
Going to work every day.
Not normal activity
Constantly washing my hands at work and disinfecting the office.
Normal activity
Filling my car up with gas
Not normal activity
Staying up way past midnight watching the riots on television. I couldn’t stop watching it.
Normal activity
Kissing my wife goodbye in the morning.
Not normal activity
Being at home every night, because there is no sports to broadcast.
Normal activity
Face-timing with my grandchildren.
Not normal activity
Texting with a Minnesota National guardsmen that was called to duty in Minneapolis because of the riots.
So when this corona-virus pandemic is over and this rioting stops, will we be able to do normal things all the time? Or will not normal things become normal for us? It’s been a tough year so far. We humans will need to make some adjustments in how we do normal things after all this is over.
