ALMOST HIT

I was standing outside my golf cart between hole 5 and 6 at Pebble Creek during the state golf tournament. I was watching a girl hitting from the sand trap across from me and her swing was too hard and the ball flew over the green and was heading right at me. I had less than a second to react and get out of the way. I yelled at my friend Julie Asfeld who was sitting in my golf cart and not paying attention and scrolling on her phone. My yell was too late as the golf ball on the fly hit inside my golf cart with a bang and bounced out just missing Julie’s leg. Julie screamed and we all asked her if she was alright. If that ball would have hit her that would have hurt. According to Julie I should have sacrificed my body to protect her! After we realized she was okay we had a good laugh.

Then something amazing happened, the girl who hit the golf ball came over to our golf cart and leaned inside and put her hand on Julie and apologized. She was genuinely concerned about her. She asked if she was okay, and apologized again. I thought that was pretty special. She had more pressing issues to deal with. Her golf ball after hitting my cart was lying on the golf cart path, but yet she took the time to walk over to see if Julie was okay. I wanted to find out who she was. So Julie and I looked up her name in the program and found out she was from Walker- Hackensack High School. Her name is Kianna Johnson. She had medaled last year and is a very good golfer. Kianna tied for 5th at state this year.

Julie and I decided to go find her later and take a picture with her. We met her family and visited a while and Julie told them that I’m a blogger and most likely will blog about this experience! Which I did!

Julie Asfeld survived almost being hit in the golf cart at state.
